Emmy nominated makeup artist Terri Carter launched her successful career in Makeup Artistry in 1999 after relocating to Los Angeles from New York. In the world of television she has been making people beautiful for MTV, MTV News, The View, and All My Children, for which she was nominated in 2011 for an Emmy. Terri has also worked on commercials for such prestigious clients as Target, Nike, and Ford and on music videos for Jamie Fox, Jill Scott, Usher, Missy Elliot, and Beyonce. The list of acclaimed clients continues to top-notch photographers and directors. She is a member of The Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists Guild, I.A.T.S.E., Local 706. Her work has been featured on many red carpets, including the Emmys, the Grammys, and the Academy Awards. Her fashion and editorial work has appeared on the covers and inside of top magazine print publications including Entertainment Weekly, Flaunt, O Magazine, People, Zink, and Essence to name a few.
Being able to create a look thats edgy or soft, natural or enhanced with special effects, high fashion or girl next door - and still remain as down to earth as Terri is, is her particular talent. You'll find that her specialty is youthful skin, and enhancing the eyes. In addition to being able to work with all varieties of skin tones effortlessly, she is trained in special effects makeup. Terri was also an instructor at the prestigious makeup school Makeup Disignory (MUD) in LA, before her busy schedule made her put the focus primarily to her A-List clientele. Some of the celebrities on her client list include John Legend, Prince, John Leguizamo, and Paul Abdul.
Because her clients are able to trust in her talent, and feel at ease when they hear her infectious laugh, she has maintained many friendships and partnerships over the years.
